Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J. K. Rowling

A spectacular show more than worth the price of admission, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will blow your mind. However, considering that so much was in protecting the secrets of the book (including armored trucks and bans), do not expect spoilers from this review. It’s a lot more fun not knowing what’s coming – and with Rowling’s delicious sixth book, you don’t want to. Just sit back, despite the earth-shattering revelations that hold your head in your hands as you hope the words connect with another story. But take one warning to heart: do not open Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince until you have first found a secluded place where you can read for a long time, away from prying eyes.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is a darker book than any book in the series, with a complexity that transcends its genre. Although long praised for its intelligence and wit, the strength of Book 6 lies in its subtle development of main characters and its carefully nuanced portrayal of a community at war. In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, no one and nothing is safe, including preconceptions about good and evil and right and wrong. With each book, fans of his increasingly remarkable series nervously followed J.K. Rowling raises the stakes; Gone are the simple pleasures of butterbeer and enchanted candy, and the days when the worst disease could be cured with chocolate. What started as a colorful swing full of magic and discovery has turned into a dark and deadly war zone. But that shouldn’t surprise loyal readers. Rowling prepared her fans with Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by killing off popular characters and bringing young students into the fray. However, at the beginning of Book 6, there is an unexpected gloom that casts an ominous shadow over Quidditch games, silly flirtations, and mountains of homework. Ready or not, the huge ending of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince left fans in awe, wondering what great and terrible events lie ahead in Book 7 if this grim darkness were to light the way.
